At the end of the second week, we spent a good amount of our time shifting from research projects to mainly just completing necessary tasks around the office. To finish up this week, we were finally able to take a tour of the entire campus. On the first day of the internship, we received an introductory small tour around the Wolstein Center because that is where our work was located, however, we were only able to see the rest of the athletic buildings today. It was really nice to have the opportunity to see all of the athletic facilities and was actually interesting because I have been to CSU countless times but was shown many places that I did not know existed. This tour was also a great chance to speak more with the other intern from a different high school and a Graduate Assistant named Jordan we worked with when our mentor was busy. While this day had less work for us to do, we got a chance to sit down with Jordan and learn more about the progression of his career. He attended CSU and majored in marketing with a special focus on athletics. After the graduated, he was able to work as Leslies #2 and he helps her with whatever she needed, as he is also learning everything himself. Just recently, he received a job in Illinois to work in a universities athletic department and basically do the same things he does now, just in a higher position. I think it was super cool to talk to him and learn about how he was able to figure out what he wants to do and how he was able to work his way into this great job. It was also cool because Annie and I are in a transitional period ourselves, both moving to different schools, and it was nice to find similarities with Jordan in moving to a new place and new point in our lives.
